August is National Child Support Awareness Month. The purpose of the Child Support Program is to provide children with the opportunity for a better life. Children who grow up with emotional and financial support from both parents become more productive adults than those who do not. In 2007, the Clermont County Child Support Enforcement Agency collected over 37 million dollars in child support. Our agency provides many services to the citizens of our county, including paternity establishment, and the establishment, enforcement, and collection of child support orders, including medical support. Clermont County Child Support Enforcement is sending out 50,000 informational flyers to promote National Child Support Awareness Month in August. The flyers contain the names and pictures of three non-custodial parents who are wanted for criminal non-support of dependents. These flyers will be distributed to all Clermont County residents in water and sewer bills during the months of July and August.
